“Identity Crisis” from Ephesians 2, challenges us to remember who we were apart from Christ and recognize who God has made us to be. Once spiritually dead, following the ways of the world and separated from God, everything changes with two powerful words: “But God.” Because He is rich in mercy and great in love, God makes us alive in Christ and gives us a new identity as His children—saved, forgiven, chosen, and created for His purposes. Our good works do not earn this new identity; instead, they flow from what God has already done in us. The question, then, is how we will respond: Will our lives reflect the new name and new identity God has given us, living for His glory and the purpose to which He has called us?
