Cultural Conflict in a Pluralistic Society... Acts 17

Apr 26, 2026    Kent Smith

In Acts 17, we see what it looks like to live and speak truth in a pluralistic, often fractured culture. As Paul moves from Thessalonica to Berea to Athens, he consistently meets people where they are—reasoning from Scripture, engaging in everyday conversations, and even stepping into philosophical debates—while never compromising the truth of the Gospel. Some respond with belief, others with resistance or ridicule, but the message remains the same: the one true God has revealed Himself, not through man-made ideas, but through Jesus Christ and His resurrection. This passage challenges us to build genuine relationships, clearly present who God is and what He has done, and boldly invite others to repentance and faith—even when the response is uncertain.
