Glory to God... Luke 2:8-14

Dec 7, 2025    Kent Smith

In this message, we explore the angelic proclamation of Luke 2:8–14 and the breathtaking significance of the words, “Glory to God in the highest.” The angels announce a world-changing truth: God has acted decisively in history by sending the Savior, the long-awaited Messiah, born in humility and laid in a manger. This good news reveals that the ultimate purpose of all creation is to glorify God, who is now initiating a new work of peace on earth. Yet this peace is not universal—it is experienced by those who respond to Him in faith, those “with whom He is pleased.” Through the incarnation, we see the Father’s love expressed, the Spirit’s work set in motion, the Son’s sacrificial mission beginning, and the believer’s eternal future secured. Truly, Christmas leads us to lift our eyes and hearts in worship: Glory to God in the highest.
