Watershed Moments... Acts 13

Mar 29, 2026    John Koke

Acts 13 is a series of quiet but decisive turning points—true "Watershed Moments" in the life of the early church. It begins with the church in Antioch being led by the Spirit to set apart Barnabas and Saul, marking the intentional sending of the first missionary team. From there, the gospel steps onto new ground as they confront opposition, proclaim Christ in synagogues, and ultimately turn toward the Gentiles when many Jews reject the message. Paul’s sermon in Pisidian Antioch draws a clear line from the Law to the grace found in Jesus, and the chapter closes with a defining shift: the gospel is no longer contained—it is moving outward, crossing boundaries, and reshaping who the people of God are. These moments aren’t loud at first, but they change everything, opening the floodgates for the global mission of the church.
